Atlantis Top Hat - Commission for Arathin

I think this is probably the best hat I have ever gotten to make. It was commissioned by my friend to match her new Viola Lahger corset in lovely ocean colors and we both agreed that an Under-The-Sea theme was the way to go.

It is made with three different shades of ocean colored dupioni silks, one for the base and two for decorations, and I'm very happy to say that I found suitable trim that matched well with the turquoise base. The other decorations include seashells with turquoise and gold glitter, gold rivets down the front, gold netting, pearls of different shapes and sizes, a gold chain and a little gold octopus. To be honest, it is just easier to let the pictures speak from themselves.

I am so happy with how it came out. It looks absolutely fabulous and it shimmers and glitters wonderfully when the light hits it.
